Old Mac Daddy

A much-loved holiday estate repositions itself as a destination venue for weddings, conferences and team building.

Old Mac Daddy website on a laptop and phones

Old Mac Daddy is a working farm in South Africa’s Elgin Valley, an hour from Cape Town, best known for its 12 vintage Airstreams. For years the website sold rooms. When the business decided to focus on events, it needed a site that sold the occasion instead. We’ve looked after the site for more than twelve years.

We started with strategy. Guests can stay on the estate, and that turned out to be the real selling point: a wedding party, a conference group or a whole team can celebrate, meet and sleep in one place. We built the new site around three audiences (couples, event bookers and team leads), each with its own page, its own voice and its own inquiry form. The accommodation stayed, but now it supports the events instead of competing with them.

Here is how we delivered:

  • Positioning and messaging for the move from holidays to events
  • Copywriting for three audiences, each in its own voice
  • UX and UI design, built in Etch on WordPress
  • A dedicated inquiry form and thank-you page for each type of event
  • Conversion tracking that traces every inquiry back to its page and source
  • Ad-ready hosting: ad clicks load from cache in under half a second
  • Accessibility, privacy and cookie-consent work, finished before launch

The new site went live in October 2026. The weddings landing page is built for paid ads, and a busy ad campaign no longer slows the site down.
